What makes up a good taxidermist? Is it a great sculptor...a magnificent painter...or perhaps a biologist familiar with animal anatomy? Most would say a combination of these three...but does it really matter what makes a good taxidermist? What makes up a GREAT taxidermist is the ability to be self-critical! As a master taxidermist, it is crucial to be able to examine your own work, during the process, in order for the outcome to be as lifelike as the real thing and a work of art that I can be proud to return to a client. Being a self-trained taxidermist, I feel that this quality is not only one of my best traits, but something that I strive to improve upon each day in the studio.
